What are chemical peels?
More and more men are turning to chemical peels to improve their skin. Peels are light, medium or deep treatments that use chemicals to remove outer layers of the skin. By removing the outer layers, skin with acne, scars, pigmentation and fine lines + wrinkles eventually “peels off” to reveal healthier, younger-looking skin.* Depending on the concerns that you’d like to treat, we can create a custom peel formula just for you.
Which chemicals are used in peels?
Alpha (AHAs) and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) are two of the most common chemicals used for peels. They are also two of the lightest, if you just need a minor treatment. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is often used in many different formulations, given its versatility to treat different skin conditions. Phenol is the strongest chemical used for peels, if you are looking for more dramatic results.
What kind of results should I expect from a chemical peel?
2-3 days after your peel, you should notice flaking or peeling of your skin. Your skin will continue to peel for the next 7-10 days, especially if you keep your skin well-hydrated. After this period, you will begin to notice improvements to your skin’s surface.* At Elite Plus Laser Centre, we recommend you get a series of 6 peels spaced 3 weeks apart for optimal results.*
What is laser hair removal?
For the men who want to remove unwanted hair from their bodies, it used to be that you only had two options: razors and wax. If you are tired of constantly shaving the same area of your body, laser hair removal provides effective, long-lasting results.* For laser hair removal treatments, we use Cynosure’s Elite+ laser. With the Elite+ system, there is no surgery or downtime required.
How does laser hair removal work?
During treatments, the Elite+ laser delivers a brief, intense beam of light that is absorbed by the hair follicle and converted into heat. This heat damages the follicle and effectively stops future hair growth.* The Elite+ laser system uses two wavelengths of energy, 755nm Alexandrite and 1064nm Nd:YAG, to achieve this. With these two handpieces, we can safely and comfortably treat a wide range of skin types and hair colors to reduce hair growth. Elite+ offers some of the most effective and gentle hair reduction available on the market. In fact, 1064nm Nd:YAG is considered the safest wavelength for dark or tan skin, making Elite+ more accessible than other laser hair removal devices.
What kind of results should I expect from laser hair removal?
The results are fast and predictable.* Elite+ has been shown to reduce a majority of unwanted hair after just 3 treatments.* The surrounding skin is unaffected and unharmed, so you won’t experience any damage to your skin. The number of treatments you’ll need will depend on the area being treated, your hair color and the thickness of your hair.

What are laser facials?
Laser facials are a safe and effective alternative to more traditional facials. Using the Elite+ laser, we can stimulate new collagen production in targeted areas on your face, neck and chest.* If you want to reduce wrinkles, tighten loose skin and/or address other signs of aging, a laser facial is a quick way to get amazing results.*
How do laser facials work?
Using heat on the inner layers of the skin, new collagen growth is stimulated.* Collagen is what keeps our skin tight and smooth. Unlike other treatments that remove an outer layer of skin, the Elite+ laser works by gently penetrating the inner layer of skin so the outer skin is not damaged. This means that there is no downtime involved, and you will be able to return to your every day routine immediately.
What kind of results should I expect from a laser facial?
Results will vary, depending on the skin concerns you are looking to address. Severe signs of aging may require multiple treatments. When you schedule a consultation at our laser centre in Edson, we can create a custom treatment plan for you.
